Retail Therapy? What's hot this season for the kids

It may be Back to School- but as Autumn/Winter approaches and we realise that North London toddlers are bursting through their spring sweaters, what better excuse than to indulge in a bit of retail therapy- obviously for the kids (as much fun but infinitely more justifiable to the other half).

Now, don't get me wrong, we are all for stocking up on handy pieces from the supermarket ranges, but we can't help picking a few pieces from children's boutique and online stores. As temperatures are cooling- here's what we think is hot!!

One of North London Mums' favourite haunts is Jo Jo Maman Bebe  where their USP is to stock girl's styles which are fun and sweet without being mini adult designs. For boys they target a range of colour and fabrics not just blues and browns. We love their cosy jumpers this season!

And how can you not fall in love with their polar fleeces?  In a range of colourful stripes and star designs, we almost want it to snow!

We also love the polar fleece wellie liners - In a post-Peppa world where every child MUST jump in muddy puddles, welly-wear is a vital part of a winter wardrobe!

Pumpkin Patch is another North London Mum favourite. This New Zealand brand is gradually taking the Northern Hemisphere by storm, and offers a set of bespoke collections, combining a distinctive Pumpkin Patch style, fresh and fun fashion and quality clothing. North London Toddler practically slept in her skinny purple jeans last winter! This season's collection has some beautiful Parisian -inspired styles, with beautiful little dresses for bebes and sharp red white and blue co-ordinates for little girls.

The boys ranges are equally fresh and cool-we love the great colours and cool styling.

The Little White Company takes a more classic approach to children's clothing - extending its range of affordable, quality products (that make your house smell lovely!) to beautiful children's clothing. Our favourite of this season is pink cable knit dress- scrummily soft and versatile. For boys we love the hooded checked shirt- in soft brushed cotton, with a removable hood and jersey lined sleeves.

The French brand Vertbaudet is becoming a well-known brand in the UK, based on mail order and online sales. Vertbaudet is committed to quality, and style and value and even offers a 6 month guarantee on its clothing. We love the girl's woolcloth cape  and the boys' pea jacket.

But above all- how can you resist this grey girls hat set  with gloves and (have you ever seen this before?) shoulder warmer!

Catimini is another French brand which is available through online stockists such as Milkshake Designs. It's trademarks are bright colours and classic styling. The range is a bit more pricy but if you fancy a splurge then you can find some truly signature pieces. The standouts this season are this stunning knitted jacket

and Spirit Couture Coat.

We also love this reversible boys jacket!

At The Gap we have discovered the fab Brick Lane Collection which houses some fantastic smart/casual pieces, primarily in backs and greys. Since long sleeved t-shirts are a winter essential, head here to stock up on unusual tees and turtlenecks as well as plaid shirts for boys.

For some great winter nightwear, Gap also has a wonderful range of snugglies for those cold winter nights. We love these sparkly sleep tops for girls

Finally, we can't help mentioning the fantastic range of jersey dresses at M&S! There is a range of fantastic bright colours and styles at extremely reasonable prices-  North London Toddler is already addicted.

Have we missed any hot picks? We'd love to hear from mum style hunters out there on your favourite fashions for the season!
