It's Apple Weekend at Fenton House in Hampstead. Fenton House is a National Trust property just a few minutes walk from Hampstead Underground that is worth a visit in itself. Apple Weekend is a celebration of the English apple. Including bee-keeping and cookery demonstrations, tastings, local produce stalls and children's activities. North London Mum's favourite High Tea of Highgate will also be there providing lovely refreshments. This sounds like a lovely day out not to miss.
This weekend is your last chance to see In the Night Garden Live at Brent Cross. Don't miss out on your opportunity to see the popular tv programme brough to life.


Kate Shortt

Lauderdale House has a Saturday Morning Kids Show featuring Kate Shortt and her comedy cello. The mind boggles but we are told this is a great fun show!  10am for ages 3-8. Cost £4.50 for adults and £3 for children and concessions.
Belsize Park has a fantastic sounding Green Fair - a pop up urban farm in NW3 from 10am to 4pm. There will be Farm animals, bee keeping, apple pressing, food growing and fun games for all the family!

Camden Friends of The Earth is running a  treasure treasure hunt using sustainable transport to explore Camden. The treasure trail will start at Camden Lock Market and finish at the Belsize Park green fair two hours later. All welcome to join in! For more details see here.

Museum of Childhood has Put on your red shoes and dance - Mums, dads and twinkle-toed toddlers are invited to celebrate the London Design Festival with an afternoon dance part. Free, for ages 2-5, 2-4pm.

Leadenhall Market City Life Family Festival - Come along to a fun and colourful family festival which returns for a 2nd year to take over the famous Leadenhall market in the heart of the City. The festival features a wide range of activities for children of all ages to enjoy including a special appearance by Peppa Pig, an African dance and drumming performance and workshop, and much more.

It's Winnie the Witch Day at Waterstones in Barnet. Come along and meet Korky Paul’s popular book creation who has been enchanting children for years. Fingers crossed that Wilbur the Cat might even magically appear as well! Special Appearances at 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm in the Spires Shopping Centre East Courtyard. Plus regular Super Saturday Story Time at 11am in store.

Or for another literary Saturday, go along to England's Lane Bookstore in Hampstead at 2pm where you can meet multiple award winning children’s writer and illustrator Mick Inkpen (creator of Wibbly Pig, Threadbear, Kipper, Rollo & Ruff, Zoe & Beans) and his adorable doggy character Kipper who will be there to sign books, shake paws, pose for pictures … and we have it on good authority that Kipper will have lots of stickers and playsheets to give away too! No booking is necessary.

KJ Tuition is offering free taster 15 minute lessons in Piano, Drums, Guitar, Bass and Clarinet. The session is 3-6pm in Christchurch, North Finchley Hall. Parents should call 07948 219 041 to book a slot. 


King's Place has The Big Draw's Big Splash.   a celebration of illustration for children and adults. Join Quentin Blake and a crew of top-notch artists for amazing canal-side adventures including making your own comic, and boarding the floating studio. This sounds like an amazing day out for older children in particular.

It's Fiesta Latina time at Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Seven Sisters with live music, tantalising food, fun kids activities and lots of dancing!

Sutton House, a Tudor period National Trust Property and the oldest house in Hackney has a free family day called Let's Get Physical.

Bruce Castle Museum has a drop in family arts and crafts session from 2-4pm. Free.

If you are quick you might be able to book tickets for The Very Hungry Caterpillar at the Arts Depot. This has completely sold out but they have just added an extra show on Sunday at 10am so book now!
