Ho Ho Ho- Where to find Santa this season in North London and beyond

'Meeting' Santa Claus is a very special occasion for children so we've rounded up the best places to find our bearded friend this year in and around North London.

Central London

Head to Selfridges to Santa's Winter Wonderland which is open 19 November- 24 December 2011. Journey over ice-capped bridges, visit the Wish Fairy and play in real snow as you start your trip to Santa's Winter Wonderland. Be careful to watch out for Jack Frost before you enter Santa's spectacular ice-grotto and dodge snowballs from the Cheeky Snowman on the way out. Every child will receive a special gift and your magical moments will be captured with professional photography and wil be available upon exit to purchase including glitter globes, key rings and fridge magnets.

Staying central, there is also a Santa's grotto at the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.  Get your Snow boots on for a wonderful North Pole experience, with children’s rides, shops and where Santa himself will be waiting to welcome you all to his grotto! Visits with Santa 10am-6pm daily.

Of course, where else would you expect to meet Santa but at Hamleys. Children can join Santa for a scrummy (although pricey!) meal, fun and gifts. From 1- 24 December. Suitable for children aged 4-11.

Santa's Secret Village is open between 10 and 23 December at Gabriel's Warf, offering 30 minute storytelling shows with Santa.

North London

Santa has also kindly opened a grotto at Brent Cross where you can meet him for free.

The fabulous sounding Enchanted Christmas House in Islington offers a truly memorable adventure with a journey through The Garden of Winter Wonder, The Gingerbread Kitchen, Mrs Claus’s sitting room, Santa’s Grotto, The Busy Elves Workshop. The tour includes a series of interactive workshops and activities, where kids can make presents with the Christmas elves, have their faces painted, join in the Gingerbread Kitchen. From 26 November to 24 December.

There is a Christmas Wonderland at Crews Hill Nursery in Enfield, which is possibly the largest Santas Grotto in Europe!  This is very popular and also sells christmas decorations.

You can also meet Santa at London Zoo where you can meet his reindeer herd, get a present and have your picture taken with Santa and his helpers. Only a few dates left so book now.

There is going t be a Santa's grotto at Martin Primary School Christmas Fair, Plane Tree Walk, East Finchley on 3rd December 12pm-3pm .

Beyond North London

Willows Farm Village is hosting a Santa grotto between 23 November and 24 December between 10 am and 4.30pm. There is also a daily calendar of festive events including an ice rink, Christmas sing-along and festive wood ride.

Head out west to Westfield to visit Santa in his enchanted forest grotto (outside BHS) every day from Monday 14th November to Christmas Eve. Every child gets a free chocolate, sticker and pair of Christmas reindeer ears.

Buckhinghamshire Railway Centre has a Christmas extravaganza where you can travel on a steam train, meet Santa and even meet Thomas The Tank Engine if you book for certain dates. This is selling out fast so book soon.

Have a lovely festive season and do tell us if we missed anywhere!
