Appy Monday! Peppa Pig Strikes Again

Some weeks ago we reviewed the Me Books revival of Ladybird Books for the iPad and we really liked these nostalgic, but fun app books. So we were very happy to hear that they have also launched a Me book for little pink Peppa, and set out to test it with the aid of our keen 3.5 year old assistant.

The App sees six Peppa Pig books appearing in digital format for the first time. The titles
available to purchase through the app are: School Bus Trip, Tiny Creatures, Peppa Goes
Swimming, George's First Day at Playgroup, Fun at the Fair, Daddy Pig's Old Chair, Dentist
Trip, Recycling Fun, Nature Trail and Sports Day.

One book is available when you buy the app (cost £1.99) and then you can add other books to your collection for the same price again.

These books are really fun to read because you can personalise them by adding ouur own sounds and narration using the 'hotspots' that you can create together with your children.  You can even save up to three versions of your story to listen to at another time. We had fun making silly voices for Peppa and Daddy Pig and other characters and it really let us explore the story more together.

The stories can also be listened to by those who can't read already and so are good for children who just want something they can do on their own.

There are already a lot of Peppa Pig games available and we reviewed most of them previously here so it is worth remembering that this is definitely a book and not a game and therefore provides a different, more peaceful experience and one that you can enjoy with your children!

What we loved: It's nice to be able to explore the story in more depth through adding sounds and narration and the ability to interact with it in this way makes it different to reading a book.

What we didn't:  We think the price is quite high for this given that you can buy the Peppa Pig's Party Time app which has lots of games in it for just £2.99.

You can buy the Peppa Pig Me Book here
