There are loads of great things on for families this weekend all over London. Our highlight of the weekend is the Pop Up Festival Of Stories that's happening in Kings Cross all weekend. Best of all, all of the events are free. There's games, films, readings and so much more. It sounds absolutely fantastic.
Jester Festival West Hampstead is on all weekend in Fortune Green Square - there's a circus stall, puppets, children's art tent, face painting, belly dancing, food and lots more. 12-6. Free.
London International Youth Circus Festival is at Hoxton Hall and there is a showing of Cinderella 3pm on Saturday and family cabaret on Sunday.
Forty Hall, Enfield (pictured above) opens this weekend and is having a big Housewarming 10am -5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free but you need to book - there will be tours led by costumed guides, music and dance performances, games and more. Bring a picnic and enjoy a great family day out.
Saturday 30th June
Bugs and Bombers - Insect Day at the RAF Museum, Hendon - a fun packed family insect day - follow the insect trail around the museum, make an insect mask or a pompom bumble bee. Become a pest detective and meet some of the insects that live at the museum.
London International Youth Circus Festival is at Hoxton Hall and there is a showing of Cinderlla 3pm at Hoxton Hall
Chariots of Fire, St Judes on The Hill - In Olympic year, join World Champion conductor Kevin Hathway and the musical athletes from Albert’s Band for a musical sprint through the arena of sporting themes! Albert’s Band is the resident ensemble of the Royal Albert Hall’s Education Department and this is the first time that the Band has performed a concert outside of the Royal Albert Hall. 12.45pm. Hampstead.
Canada Day Trafalgar Square is a great family day out - you can meet the mounties, watch music and food demonstrations and a hockey game.
Foundling Museum has a Punch and Judy Day - He's Behind You! - Punch & Judy shows featured at Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens and have delighted adults and children alike for over 300 years. Professor David Wilde, one of Britain’s leading Punch & Judy ‘professors’, will give a short talk for families about the history of Punch puppets before performing a traditional Punch & Judy show. 11am and 2pm. Free with admission.
Sunday 1st July
Family Fun Day Underhill Stadium, Barnet - Annual family fun day cricket match between Barnet Team and ex Barnet Legends. With a soft play area, face painting with Noah's Ark, homemade cake stall, barbecue, music, Pimms bar, licensed bar, local magician, inflatables, football turn up and play sessions, netball sessions, tombola and much more.12-3pm. Free.
