Weekend Round up 11th-12th August

As we bid farewell to the Olympics, there is still a lot to celebrate in London this weekend. Here are our highlights.


Can't escape the city to the seaside? Worry not as The Roundhouse is bringing the beach to you. Drinks, BBQ food, bar snacks, ice cream and more are available. Camden Beach has child-friendly food options and a play area. Feel free to bring your buckets & spades! And don't worry- big screens will be showing the major sporting events!


The Olympics Houses are soon to close but Russia Park, Austria, Brazil, Denmark, Jamaica all have things going on for children this weekend before they do. Find more details about the houses and what's on here.

Land Army Week at RAF Museum brings live farm animals to the museum's helipad to show the animals that the public were encourage to rear to help the war effort. There will be chickens, rabbits, sheep, goats and a ferret!

Saturday

Vintage Children's Classic Fete at Foyles Royal Festival Hall. See your favourite characters come to life. There are lots of great story readings, craft activities and more. No need to book. Free.

Children's Republic of Shoreditch is open every Saturday until 11 August 10am - 4pm for family activities including writing, drawing, spy missions and more.

Big Green Bookshop, Wood Green has fab children's author Michelle Robinson reading excerpts of her work 11am-12.30pm.

Sunday

Bruce Castle Museum has a free family craft activity called Dazzling Dragonflies at 2pm - Make a multi-coloured flying dragonfly complete with sparkly wings! Free, drop in.
