Lots of great things on this weekend now that the cold is really here to stay. Christmas fairs are really getting going to grab some mulled wine and join in the festive fun...
This weekend is the Christmas fair at Alexandra Palace, 10am-6.30pm daily. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children 5-10yrs.
Capel Manor College and Gardens, Enfield, goes all Chritsmassy this weekend with a Christmas Carousel 10am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday. Santa will be in his grotto in the Victorian themed Manor House, plus there will be carol singing, roasting chestnuts, together with children’s entertainment with magic shows throughout the afternoon, face painting and the ever popular tractor rides across the grounds. There will be a lots of Christmas stands and festive food stalls on offer and a great opportunity to see the floristry departments seasonal displays.
If you fancy heading a bit further afield, The Hampton Court Palace ice rink opens this weekend. Glide around the ice in royal style within the setting of the magnificent Palace. Enjoy the winter sun as it glistens on the ice, and after dark, skate under the stars. The Enchanted Christmas House opens this weekend: The Elves will take you and your children on an exciting tour around the House to meet Santa's Magical Friends... Take part in an array of different Christmas activities that will keep the family busy for hours, including play zones, making presents in the Busy Elves Workshop, Santas grotto, mulled wine and mince pies.
At last, the long awaited Latke Who Couldn't Stop Screaming comes to The Roundhouse in Camden - A new adaptation of the absurdly funny Lemony Snicket story brought to the stage by YaD Arts in association with Tall Stories the award- winning children's theatre company that brought you The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and the sell out Twinkle Twonkle last year.

St Andrews Church Christmas Fayre, Chase Side, Southgate 11am- 3pm. Homemade cakes, handicrafts and a visit from Santa!
The monthly fair is back with a Christmas special - 25 stalls of gifts & crafts at The Boogaloo from 12-5pm.
The 3-4-5 pre-school in Muswell Hill is holding a Winter Fair, from 10.30am - 1.30pm on 1 December 2012 at Tetherdown Hall, Muswell Hill. The Winter Fair will be a lively Christmas celebration, with Santa’s Grotto, food and drink and many games and stalls.
Tottenham NCT Christmas Party takes place 10.30- 12.30 Grace Baptist Chapel, Napier Road, Tottenham N17.
For a Boogie head to Sway for the Baby Loves Disco Christmas Special, 1-4pm. For children 6 months to 7yrs.
Sing and dance along with Mr Boom at Lauderdale House. Expect lots of action songs with choruses! Join in with musical games- be an aeroplane or a train, or try circle dancing - be a pixie in a pixie ring or a planet orbiting the sun! Performance at 10am, for children 3-8 years.

Frith Manor Primary School, Woodside Park, has a Christmas fair 2-4pm.
Torriano Infants School NW5 has 35 stalls of North London's finest handmade treasures 400 returning for Christmas edition - cards, felt otters, voodoo dolls, upcycled bling, chocolates, bags and cushions. Affordable and original gifts - 50p entrance, kids free.
Barnet Christmas Fair is taking place in Barnet. high street and The Spires centre. There's a full day of activities planned including a visit from Father Christmas, a Continental Market which will again be held on the bandstand, and a Winter Wonderland with funfairs rides, ice skating, go karts, stalls and much more!
The JCC is hosting a family workshop at the Roundhouse, Camden. Join this creative and crafty family workshop – 100% Latke inspired joy. Take-away an animated edible friend with this special JCC designed workshop. 4pm. Tickets £4. Suitable for 5yrs+.
The Arts Depot presents The Night Before Christmas at 12pm and 3pm. On the night before Christmas Emily stares out of the window, hugs her teddy and waits excitedly for the morning, while in the corner a little mouse called Eddie can’t understand why only humans are allowed to celebrate and get presents. So he sets off in search of Father Christmas to find out for himself. For children 3-7 years. Returns only.
Our event of the week is the Busy Rascal's Christmas Fair on Tuesday 4 December, 9.30 to 12pm at the Queensbury Pub, 110 Walm Lane, Willesden NW2. The Fair will include children's books and accessories, baby print jewellery and ceramics, and lots of Christmas Gift ideas.
