We rounded up all of the Christmas theatre on in this post about best Christmas theatre for families in London. Some highlights are: The Snowman is back at the Peacock Theatre and it is a really great family show, Elves and The Shoemaker is on at Jacksons Lane, and Lemony Snickett's The Latke Who Couldn't Stop Screaming, a Chanukah show is on at the Roundhouse in Camden and is a real treat.
Phoenix Cinema, East Finchley is showing the enticing double bill of classic cartoons The Snowman and Father Christmas at 10am on Christmas Eve - a great way to get children in the mood and out of the house!

Museums and Attractions
The Victoria and Albert Museum's autumn exhibition, 'Hollywood Costume', brings together over 100 of the most iconic movie costumes from across a century of film-making, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the clothes worn by unforgettable and beloved characters such as Dorothy Gale, Indiana Jones, Scarlett O'Hara, Jack Sparrow, Holly Golightly and Darth Vader.
RAF Museum, Hendon has a wartime Christmas Carol Concert on 15 and 16 December at 2.30 on both days. The concert will consist of classic Christmas wartime favourites that kept the home fires burning during the dark days of World War 2, as well a traditional hymns and carols for which we would ask that you raise the rafters high. Each concert will last approximately 75 minutes.
The Natural History Museum is displaying the Wildlife Photographer of the year entries, featuring more than 100 prize winning photographs- a perfect diversion for your little monkeys?! There is also an icerink if you are feeling brave!
The Science Museum has lots of really great Christmas themed activities for families including Snow and Tell where you can make and decorate a snowflake, Festive Physics and much more. See full round up here.
You can now visit Reindeer Land at London Zoo! Visitors to the Zoo will be able to see London’s very own reindeer herd in their new Reindeer Lodge exhibit.There’s also a chance to catch a glimpse of reindeers, Rudolph, Dancer, Prancer and Blitzen taking a daily walk around the Zoo throughout the Christmas period. There is also a festive Christmas market.
Willows Farm has a Santa's Grotto and Festive Family Fun including a winter wonderland, rides, get the key to Santa's toy shop and more.
Kew Gardens is a great place to visit this holiday with a Santa's Grotto, storytelling, a carousel, face painting and a winter family trail.
Discover Centre, Stratford is always a fantastic place to visit whatever the weather and especially now you can take the Javelin there and shop in Westfield after. This season they are also showing The House Where Winter Lives, a show for ages 3-6 up until 13 January.
Museum of Childhood, Bethnal Green has a really great range of things on over the holidays including crafts, storytelling, and a tour of the dolls houses and talk about how families celebrated Christmas in the past. All events are drop in and free. More details of times and dates here.
Geffrye Museum, Shoreditch has Christmas Past - rooms are decorated to show how Christmas was celebrated over the past 400 years. There are craft activities and quizzes for children too.
Buckhinghamshire Railway Centre has Santa's Magical Adventure departing every day- take the steam train where you will be joined by Santa himself. One of Santa's pixies will pull your gifts from the huge toy sack and the magic begins! Your Magical Adventure includes: soft drinks and biscuits for children, seasonal refreshments for adults, 25-minute live magic show, miniature railway, face painter and loads more!
Courses and Camps
Poolside Manor in Finchley has a multi activity day camp running all week. You don't need to attend all week. There is also an intensive swimming school running.
Creative Wizz Kidz - playgroups that focus on creativity - has holiday clubs running in Golders Green and Belsize Park for ages 3-9 from 10-1pm. 17th-21st December.
Kids Art Appreciation have loads of events running throughout the holidays in Woodside Park including classes and outings to museums. Find out more here.
We Love Handmade London have a series of children's craft classes and a pop up shop open in Hampstead the run up to Christmas. Details above.
Lauderdale House has some lovely crafty Christmas workshops like lantern making and Christmas Creations and a dance and storytelling workshop called The Snowman. More details here.
Every Thursday in December there is a Christmas Craft drop in at Alexandra Park Library. Come and make snowmen, Christmas decorations and other glittery fun things! 3.15-5pm. FREE.
