Weekend Round Up - 15th and 16th December

 
Things are starting to quieten down in the run up to Christmas but we've rounded up the best of what's on. Have a great weekend and don't forget to check out our Bumper Christmas Round Up which features all of the best things going on over the holidays.


Saturday

The Bohemia - fab new pub in North Finchley is having a family day with Father Christmas and his reindeer from 11am.

Phoenix Cinema Kids Club is showing Winnie The Pooh this week at 12pm. There is an activity beforehand at 11am but you need to book this separately through the box office.

There is a Christmas Fair in Muswell Hill at the Birchwood Centre. There will be home made cakes, gifts and activities and face painting for children. 1-4pm, entry £2 for adults, children go free.

Sunday

Museum of London has an opportunity for children to 'meet' Charles Dickens and hear about some of his books. For ages 5+ at 1, 2 and 3pm. FREE. There is also a traditional Victorian Santa's Grotto at the Museum (pictured above).

Head along to Gracelands Yard in Queens Park for a Christmas Sunday Crafternoon 2-4pm where children aged 5-12 can make iPod cases, charm necklaces and more

There's a unique opportunit to see Dickens' A Christmas Carol brought to life at the disused Victorian theatre in Alexandra Palace at 3.30pm. Tickets are £8 and include a glass of mulled wine.

All Weekend

See our round up of all the great children's theatre that's on this season in London as there are loads of great local shows including The Gruffalo at Arts Depot and Elves and The Shoemaker at Jacksons Lane. 

Or you could visit Santa at one of these Santa's Grottos in and around North London

Sleeping Beauty on Ice comes to Alexandra Palace from 14th-16th - see the traditional panto brought to life on the ice.

Museum of Childhood has events all weekend on Christmas Crafts and Seasonal Stories - Find out how families celebrated Christmas 100 years ago! Enjoy a creative re-telling of The Nutcracker and make seasonal decorations. See more details here. A great place for when the weather is cold. 

There are Christmas Concerts on Saturday and Sunday at RAF Museum, Hendon at 2.30pm.
