It is Nature Games Weekend at the Natural History Museum. Visitors will get the chance to join the Insects Sports Day, grow caterpillars, battle with ants, hunt for clues in the Museum trail, or just sit back and cheer on the players from the sidelines.
Our higlight of the weekend is the Wonderlands Children's Literature Festival at British Library. The amazing line up includes Michael Rosen, Julia Donaldson, Michael Morpurgo and many more. Book in advance for sessions. There is also a storytelling tent.
North London Mums visited the children's festival Lollibop for the first time this year, and had a great day. We took two four year olds and a two year old and although there was more for the older ones to do the little one had a great time too. We'd love to know what you thought of it and whether you would go again.
Only a few more weeks to go! If you're looking for things to do next week then look no further. As we bid farewell to the Olympics, there is still a lot to celebrate in London this weekend. Here are our highlights.
Can't escape the city to the seaside? Worry not as The Roundhouse is bringing the beach to you. Drinks, BBQ food, bar snacks, ice cream and more are available. Camden Beach has child-friendly food options and a play area. Feel free to bring your buckets & spades! And don't worry- big screens will be showing the major sporting events!

The summer holidays are motoring along and so here's some inspiration for things to do to keep you and the family entertained. If you're looking for things to do next week then look no further. Olympic fever- you just can't escape it- there's loads of Olympic flavoured activities going on, and you can also catch some of the street events.
If you are swept up by Olympic fever but regretting not having any tickets, head to one of the road events taking place this weekend. This weekend catch the women's triathlon. You only need tickets for the start and end points. Alternatively, head to one of the live sites. Suitable for all ages.
If you fancy heading a bit further afield, explore the Exhibition Road Festival which takes place this weekend. The festival showcases London's cultural heartland, and features live music, artists from the Royal College of Music, and performances from a specially formed acrobatic troupe. Suitable for all ages.
This month is (confusingly!) Kids Week, an action-packed month of theatrical fun from 1-31 August.
During Kids Week, a child aged 16 or under can experience the magic of London theatre and see a fantastic selection of shows for free, plus two additional children can go at half price (per transaction), as long as they are accompanied by a full paying adult. Booking details here.
For something very different, Sacrilege, the inflatable Stonehenge created by Turner prize winning artist Jeremy Deller, is hitting London this week appearing at Southwark on Saturday and Hillingdon on Sunday. Suitable for all ages.
