North London Mums' Weekend Round-Up 3 and 4 March 2013

Fun, fun, fun this weekend, with loads of theatre for kids, as well as the kick off for Give it a Go- a free sports and activities event kicking off in North London this weekend.

This weekend sees the kick off of the Give it a Go campaign-  a festival of FREE sports and activities being offered by sport providers across North London in March and April 2013. This is a great opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in sport in their local community, inspired the the Olympics and Paralympics. Check out what's on here.

Madagascar Live! comes to Wembley this weekend- Friday to Sunday. If your children like to "move it move it" then tihs is probaby the perfect excursion for you- a WILD New Musical Adventure based on the blockbuster DreamWorks film. Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they escape from their home at New York's Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey.

The RAF Museum has an arts and crafts activity, making cards for mothers' day. Kids can take inspiration from a display of Mother's Day tokens that have been given by RAF Personnel to their Mums throughout the decades. Children 5+.

Saturday 3 March


Jacksons Lane Theatre has a performance of Mr Hicks Curioddity at 3pm, for children 3+. The show features a collection of artistic oddities and performing curios, such as chain reaction contraptions, and magical chalk drawings, presented by Jon Hicks and sidekick Frank the Dog.

The Garden Suburb Theatre has performances of  Alice's Adventures in Wonderland at 3pm and 7.30pm. Join Alice on her whirlwind tour through The Looking Glass and Wonderland as she meets the most amazing, amusing and bemusing creatures ever imagined.

Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution is holding its annual Childrens' Book Fair from 10am to 1pm, with Helen Oxenbury making an appearance at 11am, and staying to sign books.

Sunday 4 March

The Arts Depot is showing My Big Little Sister on Sunday with perfomances at 12pm and 3pm.
This is a light-hearted play about learning what happiness really means. Tom can't understand his little sister Ruby. She just wants to be a grown-up so she can become a pop star, a model or a princess. Mum says you should be careful what you wish for! For children 4-8years.

And of course, there's shopping...

Lauderdale House has an Arts and Crafts Fair from 11 to 6pm. Discover a fantastic selection of local, national and international arts and crafts.
