Our Family Photo - Pop Up Family Friendly Photography Studios

Always on the look out for great family photographers, North London Mums caught up with Sarah from Our Family Photo - a fun and fresh approach to family photography and found out how the husband and wife team got started and how they work.  

Sarah told us that the idea for Our Family Photo came from friends, who frequently said how much they loved the family photos that cover their walls. All of these pictures had been taken by Andy, so they decided it was time to share his skills with local families.

As parents, Sarah and Andy Aitchison understand what families need in a photo shoot. The studio is relaxed so that kids (and parents) can play while they create natural images of family interactions and capture your unique personalities.  They also offer a bespoke package where you can choose the location of your shoot, such as at your home or favourite park.

After the shoot, you will receive digital JPGs of your favourite images so you have complete control and unlimited use of your photos as well as a private online gallery of the best photos from the shoot. Most other photographers do not offer such freedom and value for money.

The next studio dates are 23rd February and 3rd March - just before Mother’s Day so that beautiful photos of your family could make perfect treasured present for your mother.

Andy Aitchison is an award-winning documentary photographer, with 19 years of experience. His recent subjects have included Nelson Mandela, Prince Charles and David Attenborough.  He works with various charities, such as Oxfam, UNICEF, Action Aid and Ashden.  His work has taken him across Africa and India. 

His favourite subjects, he tells us, are probably his children.  He knows just how special it is to capture your children’s early years and really see a their character shine through in a photo. They have helped him learn every trick in the book for coaxing a smile out of a shy grumpy toddler!

In addition to being a mum-of-two and a nurse, Sarah project manages Our Family Photo and is often found behind Andy playing peekaboo (to get the babies to laugh!).

Andy and Sarah have up-to-date CRB checks as they both work regularly with children.  Their studio  will be checked by their health and safety officers: Jasmine (4 years) and Dexter (1 year).
