As the sun is out at last, this is a great weekend to get outside. There's not much organised activity going on so we've given you a list of great splash pools in North London or you can check out our round up of the best parks or the best daytrips around North London for more inspiration. Still on Southbank visit Beanotown at Southbank Centre and celebrate 75 years of the country's favourite comic. Beanotown is the home of Dennis the Menace and Gnasher, The Bash Street Kids, Minnie the Minx, Roger the Dodger, plus all the other comic strip superstars from The Beano. It’s a place where kids of all ages can enjoy laughs, jokes and pranks together and this summer it’s being brought to colourful life for the first time ever! Beanotown is free and is located in the Festival Village, underneath the Queen Elizabeth Hall. It runs from 31 May- 8 September, and is open from 11am – 7pm.
If the weather stays warm, you might also want to head to the South Bank for the Appearing Rooms Fountain (shown above) which is back this year after a break. The interactive fountain is a massive hit with children, just remember to take towels and a change of clothes!

Dalston Children's Festival is still on this weekend with lots of events happening all weekend.
Fancy a country house weekend? Head to The Idler magazines garden party at Fenton House, Hampstead in Hampstead. There will be a day of merry-making, philosophizing and drinking. There will be a recital of medieval and Renaissance music in Fenton’s fine orchard. You will also be able to learn bartitsu, the Victorian gentleman’s martial art, and take free lessons in Plato and the ukulele. There are also fun children's activities all day including scavenger hunts, egg and spoon race, storytelling and much more.
There's a Teddy Bears Picnic happening in Barnet today - If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise..! Stalls, cakes, sandwiches, face painting and best dressed bear to name just a few of the lovely things you will find. 11am-3pm at Christ Church, St Albans Road, Barnet.
The Little Red Hen is on at Lauderdale House at 10am and 11.30am - One day The Little Red Hen finds some grains of wheat and decides to make some bread. But who will help her? Come and join in with the story of The Little Red Hen and lend a hand in making a most delicious loaf! This is an interactive story involving puppetry, song, music and lots and lots of joining in. For ages 2-5.
Interested in creepy crawlies? Join the Invertebrate Nature Walk in Coldfall Woods in Muswell Hill. Led by Tristan Bantock, local entomologist and recorder for the London Natural History Society.
