This is our round up of the best parks for families in North London
These are our favourite day trips around North London including beaches, parks, zoos, stately homes and more.

All Week

There are fantastic family workshops at Geffrye Museum, Shoreditch all week for all ages. All Free. Including making Summertime Crowns, Seed Bombs, Beautiful Bird Cages and more. See here for the full line up. FREE.

Barnet Council has events at libraries all week with the theme Spooky House as part of the Summer Reading Challenge. See full list of events here and highlights are below. FREE.

Brent Council also has events with the Creepy House theme all week, details here.

There are free family art activities all week at Bruce Castle Museum for ages 5-13. With themes like Style it Like a Roman and Vicious Vikings, they sound good fun. See full details here. 2-4pm. FREE.

RAF Museum has a week of model making with ‘make and take’ sessions Monday to Friday enabling visitors to make their own 1:72 nd scale Airfix model aircraft for a very affordable £2 per kit. Sessions will run each day (Monday to Friday) from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm in the Museum’s Dermot Boyle and are suitable for children aged 8 and above.

There are summer holiday activities all week at Museum of Childhood including storytelling, arts and crafts and more. 

Kids Week has kicked off now opening up London theatre to children and their families with lots of great deals on children's theatre. See the full programme here and book while there are still tickets. Tickets for West End shows are very reasonable.

Monday 5 August

Eeny Meeny Music is on in Muswell Hill today. A great music group for little people with songs, bubbles and fun. St Georges Church Hall, Cranley Gardens, Muswell Hill. 9.30 and 10.30am, £5 per child, £8 for two siblings.  

Al's Little Singers is on at the Clissold Arms in East Finchley and running throughout August.
Join Al and her guitar every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for singing, percussion and bubbles. Classes last 40 minutes. Suitable for children up to four years old. 9.45 and 10.45am, £5 for all ages.

See comedy show The World's Worst Birthday Party at That Place On The Corner before it goes to Edinburgh Festival - Hapless Marvellous Maddy is having the worst day ever. It’s her birthday and nothing is going to plan. Join Maddy as she tries to solve the world’s worst ever problem and meet her sick pranking bro Dangerous Dom, DJ Fresh Fruit and Veg: the cringe DJ who puts the play in your five-a-day and Bonkers Aunty Psychic Janey along the way...5pm. 

Make your own creepy armour at Kingsbury Library- find out about the (possibly) haunted armour that lives deep in the Brent museum basement and make your very own fancy dress version to take home with you! Come along... if you dare!!! 1pm and 2.30pm.

Tuesday 6 August

Lauderdale House has a workshop to make 3d Creature Crafts - Learn how to make three dimensional animals from everyday recyclables, including milk cartons, bottles, newspaper and pegs! Create a panda, fish, giraffe, pig or turtle to take home. Be green, creative and have lots of fun! A 4 day workshop from 10.30-12.30 for ages 5-9 costs £65.

There is a Creepy Craft Messy Morning Activity at Marcus Garvey Library in Tottenham every week during the holidays and this week it is Make a Frankenstein Mask 10.30am, FREE. 

East Finchley Library has a Creepy House Art Extravaganza - Create some creepily colourful works of art to adorn your library. For children aged 6 - 11. Tickets required. 2-3.30.

Green Peas  - eco friendly messy play has an art picnic in Waterlow Park, Highgate 11am-1pm. Booking and details here. Pictured above.

It's a Bug's Life at Golders Hill Park today 12-4pm. Both FREE

Take your young farmers along to Aldenham Country Park for Farm Club where today they will be milking goats, pony grooming and playing games. £12 per child. 10-12.

Wednesday 7 August

Green Peas - eco friendly messy play has an art picnic in Priory Park, Crouch End 11am-1pm. Booking and details here.

Thursday 8 August

North Finchley Library has an Ultimate Scrap Heap Mystery event - Come along to North Finchley library for some ‘creepy house’ themed junk modelling in celebration of this year’s summer reading challenge. For children aged 7 - 11. Tickets required. 2.15, FREE.

Hampstead Heath is busy today, it's Zooday at Golders Hill Park, drop in 12-4pm, and It's a Bug's Life at Parliament Hill 12-4pm. Both FREE

Come to The Spires in Barnet any Thursday this holiday for Crafternoons with a different activity every week. This week it is Cupcake Decorating - Today we invite children to decorate yummy cupcakes and cookies using coloured icing, Dolly Mixtures, Smarties, silver balls, jelly diamonds and much more. They can then take their creations home in the clear bags provided as presents... or eat them there and then! An array of different cookies and cakes with a full list of ingredients will be supplied. For ages 3+.  

Take your young farmers along to Aldenham Country Park for Forest Club where today they will be building dens, lighting fires and toasting marshmallows. £12 per child. 10-12.  Ages 5-12. 

Chickenshed has Fairies' Tale - Tales From The Shed When humans grow up, they stop believing in fairies. For your average fairy, on the other hand, humans are a mysterious race that exist only in legends and fables. But on Midsummer’s Eve, the most magical time of the year, the fairy world and the human world collide and so begins an adventure where you’ll be left believing in impish sprites, boisterous boggarts and fairies-with-attitude all over again. For ages 0-7, 10am and 11.30am. Book soon to avoid disappointment.
