The annual and exciting Thames Festival is on this weekend with free events running along the Thames all weekend. Highlights include Tower Beach which has family events running all day on Sunday, Blue Ribbon Village open all weekend which tells the story of the ecology of the Thames and has free family activities all weekend and much more. Whitechapel Gallery has a family event on today - Make colourful artwork using dot stickers with graphic artist and illustrator Otto, whose influences range from Russian Constructivist designs and Polish poster art to Renaissance painting. London Design Festival has an event called The Designed Child at Museum of Childhood - expect free family activities, workshops, and demonstrations exploring design for children. There will also be stalls selling unique children's clothes, toys and accessories. 12-4pm, FREE.
Kings Place Festival in Kings Cross is on all weekend and there is a free family craft event on today, book online in advance for tickets. FREE.
Kids Fest is the family day of the Hampstead and Highgate Literary Festival - there are fantastic events all day at Ivy House in Golders Green including chances to hear Lauren Child and Judith Kerr. Some events are sold out but book quickly for the last few fab things.
There is lots of dancing fun to be had at Disco Loco in Springfield Park, E5. Disco Loco is a non-profit community event, run by a bunch of dedicated organisers and artists who are committed to offering affordable, friendly, decent quality cultural activity for families with young children in East London so that we can all enjoy music, dancing, eating, drinking and playing together.11am-6pm, FREE.
