North London Mums' guide to meeting Santa!

Meeting' Santa Claus is a very special occasion for children so we've rounded up the best places to find our bearded friend this year in and around North London.

Central London

Of course, where else would you expect to meet Santa but at Hamleys. Join Father Christmas and his lovable elves at "The Finest Toy Shop in the World!" for fun, magic and entertainment at this very special time of year. "I Met Father Christmas at Hamleys" is a 1 hour extra special experience for children to enjoy seasonal activities, delicious snacks and an exclusive goody bag from Father Christmas to take home. During this group session each little guest will hear magical stories of Christmas, sing festive songs, enjoy Christmas games and activities, write their own Christmas wish list and have a special chat with Father Christmas himself all surrounded by the finest toys in the world. From 23 November to 24 December. Booking information here

Father Christmas is enjoying himself at Selfridges, London from 29 November.

Staying central, there is also a Santa's grotto at the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, which runs from 24 November to 5 January 2014.  Santa opens his grotto every day from 10am to 6pm. Entry is free and Santa will have a gift for children who've been good! Please allow plenty of time as on busy days we may have to close the the queue 2-3 hours early.

Santa is also putting in an appearance at London Zoo. Enjoy the Meet Santa experience from 16 November, and also get to meet the reindeer. Also included in the Meet Santa experience, kids will be able to lend a hand at the daily Keeper’s Little Helpers sessions, where they’ll be preparing treats and presents for the Zoo’s animals before settling down for storytelling with Mother Christmas. There are Christmas craft activities to enjoy around the Zoo, with gingerbread decorating, adding their festive wishes to the Wishing Tree and joining in the Zoo’s colouring competition. The event is not cheap- tickets for Meet Santa cost £25.50 including Zoo entry, but the price secures fast-track entry to the Zoo, a mince pie on arrival, and a special event planner.
