North London Mums' Weekend Round-Up: 30 November- 1 December


One Snowy Night is on at Jacksons Lane this weekend - An adorable adaptation of Nick Butterworth’s multi-million selling book A Tale from Percy’s Park – One Snowy Night. A snuggly, heart-warming story with songs to sing along to, furry puppet friends to meet and blankets to be tucked in. For ages 3+. 

The Enchanted Christmas House is open in Islington from Saturday - The Elves will take you and your children on an exciting tour around the House to meet Santa's magical friends... Take part in an array of different Christmas activities that will keep the family busy for hours. Theatre sets designed and built by top artist and children’s book illustrator  Nicky Armstrong. Activities and musical theatre devised by award winning  author Dr Margot Sunderland. 10% off for morning tickets this weekend only.

Kensington Palace gets festive too- Step back in time to Christmas past and experience how this festive season might have been for King William III and Queen Anne II. Explore different smells, play with presents and dress-up as the 'Lord of Misrule' in our sensory room designed for children aged 5 and under.

Saturday 30 November

The Forge, Camden, has children's storytelling with music, for children aged 2- 5 years. At 11am.

Tangled is showing at the Phoenix Cinema Kids Club in East Finchley at 12pm. Book in advance. 

Create a Mayan comic at the British Museum for children 7+. 11.30- 5.30.

The Night Before Christmas is on at the Arts Depot - On the night before Christmas, Emily waits excitedly for the morning, while in the corner a little mouse called Eddie can't understand why only humans are allowed to get presents.

Author Jane Ray is at Pickled Pepper Books in Crouch End at 11am - Fly by and join us for a feast of feathery tales from Jane Ray with her beautiful new book The Emperor's Nightingale

The White Reindeer is on in Highgate at Lauderdale House at 10am and 11.30am - Follow the story of a boy called Aldred. Saved from a snowstorm by a magical White Reindeer, he finds himself on a wonderful, wintery adventure! But only the audience can help him escape from the Scary Squire

The V&A has pop up performances running all day today with the theme Music Hall Marvels - "All together now!” Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, give a cheer for the delights of the marvellous music hall - from sing-a-longs to comedy capers. See website for times and details. 

Sunday 1 December

Visit JW3 for Hannukah fun in the cinema -  Elmo wants to learn about Hanukkah, so he turns to the Hanukkah Channel where Veronica Monica is there to tell the story of Hanukkah. A funny animated report that answers all our questions on the origin of Hanukkah. 10.30am.
