It's Canalway Cavalcade in Maida Vale all weekend - a unique waterways and community festival arranged by IWA at Little Venice in London since 1983. There’ll be fun for all the family with a boaters’ gathering, a pageant of boats, trade shows and stalls, live music, kids’ activities, competitions, Morris Dancers, a real ale bar, a wide variety of snacks and food.
While you are in the area, visit the Puppet Barge Theatre which is moored in Little Venice and which is showing A Child's Garden of Verse - for all ages 3+ showing at 11am and 3pm.

Museum of London Docklands has a whole day of celebrations to celebrate May Day on the Docks - celebrate may day with a whole day of free family events. You can create a flower bouquet, make a jack in the box, hear spring folktales and take part in a procession.
Lime Wharf hosts a new First Saturdays event for the whole family. There will be food, live music, craft and music workshops, and more. Free, just turn up (booking required for some workshops — see website), 11am-11pm

JW3 in Swiss Cottage has a Family Fun Day celebrating the Colours of Israel - From London to Tel Aviv via JW3! Celebrate the rich tapestry and colours of Israel in this shuk-style family event! From arts to eating, yoga to dance - we’ve got something for everyone including yoga, crafts, dancing and more. FREE.
Drop in to the Camden Arts Centre for Make and Do - families with children can drop in to the Drawing Studio for practical and creative activities based around the shows. Led by artist Jo Brinton, activities are fun and suitable for all ages. 2- 4.30pm, FREE.
Lauderdale House, Highgate has a May Day Bank Holiday Workshop - Drop the kids off for a special one-hour arty workshop while you wander round the Market and Food Fair. There will be lots of cutting out, colouring, collage making and glitter to enjoy while they create a beautiful dragonfly collage. 11.30-12.30, for ages 5-7, £6.50.
